One of China's largest telecommunications operators ChinaTelecomGlobal became the first customer of the REAL (RapidEurope-AsiaLink) project, where Datagroup appears as one of three partners. The Kazakh project partner Kazakhtelecom JSC signed a contract with ChinaTelecomGlobal Chinese on the rental of the STM-64 transit channel from Frankfurt to Khorgos.
The initiative of creation of the shortest telecommunication route between Europe and Asia belongs to Datagroup. Its importance lies in the fact that it might be actively used by the major Chinese telecommunications companies in the future.
"Today the lion's share of international traffic (80-90%) from Hong Kong to Frankfurt-am-Main goes through the main undersea networks. Datagroup intends to increase the load and the share of terrestrial channels in this area from 10-20% to 30-40% in the long term of 5-7 years ", says Datagroup Director General Alexander Kardakov.
In hindsight, Datagroup launched a new international fiber-optical network bandwidth of 200 Gbit/s in March this year. The channel, which connects the company's communication centers in Kiev and Frankfurt (Germany), passes through several countries, such as Poland, the Czech Republic and Germany. The length of this fiber-optical network from Lviv to Frankfurt comprises 1783 km. This channel has become part of a larger REAL project.
(Rapid Europe Asia Link) is backbone network between China and Western Europe. The REAL international route was implemented by Datagroup in cooperation with its partners, such as Kazakhtelecom and Quantum Telecom in 2014. The REAL can be called the New Silk Road from China to Europe. The purpose of the development for the company is to increase its stake in the ground data transit between Asia and Europe.
