On August 17, 2023, Mykhailo Shelembu, CEO of one of the leaders of the telecommunications market, Datagroup, was elected as the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine.

This initiative brings together Ukrainian and international business and is a platform for companies that want to demonstrate their support for the recovery of Ukraine, its desire to modernize and build a sustainable and flexible economy. We are sure that Mykhailo Shelemba will strengthen our activities and become a worthy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine," emphasizes Tetyana Sakharuk, Director General of the UN General Assembly in Ukraine.
The UN Global Compact in Ukraine is a Ukrainian network of the world's largest community of responsible businesses. This special initiative of the UN Secretary General calls on companies to build their activities and strategies taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals and based on the 10 Principles of the UN General Assembly in the field of human rights, labor relations, environmental protection and anti-corruption. The organization has 23,000 members in 166 countries. The Ukrainian network has 130 members.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, in addition to the usual areas of activity, the organization began working on the project of free psychological assistance for Ukrainians "Mental Help". The UN General Assembly in Ukraine has also become a hub for the Ukraine Business Compact, the purpose of which is to strengthen support for peace in Ukraine on the part of the business community and to define common expectations regarding the successful results of actions to restore the country.
"It is important for the Datagroup company to participate in projects aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as adhere to the 10 Principles of the UN Global Compact, which are guidelines for business activities and cover the areas of human rights, labor relations, the environment and anti-corruption. I believe that as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the UN Security Council in Ukraine, I will be able to strengthen assistance to our country and contribute to the development of the community of responsible business," Mykhailo Shelemba comments on his election to the position.
We would like to add that Datagroup joined the UN Global Compact in July 2021. By becoming a member of the UN General Assembly, the company undertook to adhere to the Organization's Principles and work to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
