Fuel of victory
Dear friends! We keep sharing our partners' stories of the first year of the war, which vividly demonstrate why Ukrainians are the best, and why our country will certainly prevail. This time we will talk about our cooperation with one of the largest Ukrainian gas stations chains, WOG.
From the very first days of the full-scale war, the enemy set a goal of creating a fuel crisis in Ukraine. He destroyed oil depots, gas stations, an oil refinery in Kremenchuk.
Providing the country with fuel has become one of the priorities of the WOG gas stations network, to ensure the function of business and transport for critical infrastructure, and the mobility of defenders.
For this purpose, the work of gas stations throughout Ukraine had to be stable. Ensuring this has become the key task of Datagroup specialists and the WOG network.
Our teams consolidated efforts to promptly restore damaged facilities and support the operation of gas stations in the frontline areas. In addition, we worked on enabling remote refueling to keep the military and critical infrastructure mobile. The WOG PAY contactless payment function was operating at the gas stations thanks to the availability of data transmission channels.
Moreover, in 2022, the project to build a backup data transmission channel at 11 network facilities across Ukraine was implemented, as well as the resumption of gas stations in the de-occupied territories of the Kharkiv, Chernihiv and Kyiv regions.
“We are grateful to our partner, the Datagroup company, for their help in organizing the work of our gas stations network at such a difficult time. Today, WOG has more than 370 gas stations all over the country and a reliable connection with them is crucial for monitoring the fuel situation, uninterrupted operation of bank terminals, the PRIDE loyalty program, cash registers, accounting systems and other services and business processes,” comments Hordii Verbytskyi, Head of the Department for Regional IT Infrastructure and Technical Support of the WOG gas stations network.
“During the first months of the war, a wave of forced refugees rushed across Ukraine in search of safety. Most of them moved by car. And such a number of cars required huge volumes of fuel. We are very proud that together with WOG we were able to help these people get to safe places,” summarizes Iryna Blyzniuk, Director of the Datagroup Corporate Department.
